Piranha teeth, toucan beaks and soccer ball heads!
Last week the students concluded their inquiry unit on the Olympic Games by designing mascots and torches for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.
Students researched information on Brazil by working together in a JIGSAW activity. Each student became an expert on one aspect of Brazil such as The Amazon or Brazil's Favourite Sports. Experts shared their knowledge with the class so everyone knew heaps about Brazil.
After discussing what things we could include in our designs students went to work designing their mascots. Piranha teeth, toucan beaks, soccer ball heads, symbols to represent the poor people in brazil, the colours of carnaval and much more featured in the designs.
